It all started with Katie Grogan, who deserves full credit for her matchmaking skills. Meghan was friends with Gabi, and Andrew was friends with Jamie. Back when Jamie and Gabi were still just dating, Katie had the idea that maybe, just maybe, these two should meet. She was convinced they would be a perfect match.
Meghan was nervous before the first date. After a little bit of Instagram research, all she could find on Andrew’s profile were photos of skiing and fish. Not exactly the most helpful clues when you are about to meet someone new. But she said yes anyway.
For their first date, Andrew brought Meghan to The Local. The plan was quick and easy: just apps and a drink. Four hours later, they were still there, talking and laughing. Andrew left the waiter a 100% tip for letting them take over the table all night, even though the restaurant was completely empty.
The second date sealed the deal. At the Chart House, they ordered a bottle of wine. When the waiter presented Andrew with the cork, he confidently sniffed it and set it down on the table. They were both confused, as neither had enjoyed finer bottles of wine, and they both laughed over how strange that was. Years later, they discovered that the sommelier was handing over the cork so he could check for cracks. They now enjoy sniffing corks on the many bottles they have opened over the years.
Since then, life has only gotten better. Meghan and Andrew now live in Charlestown, Massachusetts, where most evenings are happily spent walking through the city and spotting dogs around the neighborhood. Last summer, Andrew proposed on the Cape, with both of their families there to celebrate. It was perfect.
Together, they are planning a life full of adventures. Traveling the world, eating (and cooking, thanks to Andrew) all the good food, and going to every concert they can possibly fit into the calendar.
